We’re Miff and Jodie - lifelong dog lovers with over twenty-five years of experience caring for dogs of all shapes, sizes, and personalities. From playful pups to gentle old souls, confident characters to those who need a little extra reassurance, we know how to help every dog feel settled, safe, and loved.

Dogs have always been at the heart of our family life. Over the years we’ve welcomed countless furry guests into our home, learning what makes them happiest - calm surroundings, familiar routines, and plenty of affection. 

Our collective experience - enhanced by Jodie's professional time at Battersea Dogs Home and our many years fostering dogs - has given us a deep understanding of behaviour and rehabilitation. This journey has taught us how to truly listen to dogs: to read their signals, understand their emotions, and create the calm, safe environment every dog needs to thrive. We have intentionally built our home around providing that peaceful, nurturing space where dogs can relax and be themselves.

At The Grateful Dog, we offer more than just boarding - it’s a genuine home-from-home experience. Every dog becomes part of our family, sharing our home, our day-to-day life, and all the cuddles, play, and treats that come with it. Whether they’re staying for a weekend or a few weeks, you can feel completely at ease knowing your best friend is safe, happy, and cared for as if they were one of our own.
